Floral Design is one of the primary focuses of Garden Club of Toronto (GCT) activities. Our Floral Design Committee offers educational opportunities ranging in skill level from novice to expert for our members. All of the curriculum courses from Introduction to Floral Design (for the Provisionals), through Basic, Intermediate and Advanced Courses are only taught by accredited judges in our club. Members may develop their skills at six Floral Design competitions held at GCT monthly meetings. Many of our members compete internationally at shows run by The World Association of Floral Artists (WAFA). More on WAFA. The GCT is also committed to Canada Blooms, a world class flower show and horticultural festival co-founded by the Garden Club of Toronto and Landscape Ontario in 1997. Members of our Floral Design Committee continue to enter, convene and write the schedule for the competitive classes. |
